Beyoncé is really hot right now — although, to be fair, when is she not? — so does that mean Glee is about to board the Bey wagon and show their appreciation for this revolutionary gal in the form of a tribute episode? Sure, the Fox dramedy has covered tunes by Queen Bey in the past — “Crazy in Love”, Halo”, and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” are some of the tracks that first come to mind — but they’ve never done a full-scale tribute.
Two weeks ago, show co-creator Ryan Murphy took part in his first live Twitter chat during which he fielded dozens of questions from eager fans. One fan wanted to know if Ryan and his team have ever considered doing a Beyoncé tribute. His response? “We have actually. I love her. #GleeAlong.”
We have no way of knowing if that means a Beyoncé tribute is in our future or not (there’s still Season 6 to go!) but knowing that the thought has at least crossed Ryan’s mind makes us giddy. Mrs. Carter is a song-making machine, so there are certainly plenty of tracks to choose from. Plus, several of the show’s cast members have been very open about their love for ‘Yonce, so we know they’d be on board.
Glee has hardly shied away from tributes in the past, with hours honoring the late Whitney Houston, Billy Joel, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, and several other groundbreaking artists with their own eps, so a Beyonce tribute certainly wouldn’t be out of place.

Glee airs Tuesday nights on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.
