Rihanna Sued by Former Head of Security For Defamation
Unfortunately for Barbadian beauty Rihanna, she may have to pay the price for her bad girl reputation. A former bodyguard is suing the “Rude Boy” singer for defamation, reports TMZ.
We’re heading to Ireland for this one where Geoffrey Keating filed suit earlier today (April 28). His attorney has received permission to serve Rihanna the suit in the U.S. so we’ll be on the lookout for that headline soon.
In the lawsuit, Geoffrey claims RiRi made “nauseatingly offensive” and false statements about him in an email sent last July to him and his partner (personal or professional is unclear). The statements were also made in a phone call to his sister, Geoffrey says.
Further details on what qualifies as “nauseatingly offensive” aren’t included but the remarks were supposedly so bad, Geoffrey says they’ve seriously damaged both his personal and professional lives.
Rihanna and Geoffrey worked together from October 2012 to July 2013, when he served as head of security for her on tour.
“We’re taking this battle very seriously,” Geoffrey’s attorney, Gerald Kean, tells TMZ. “We are satisfied that the Irish Courts will see justice at the end of the day.”
Rihanna, meanwhile, is keeping her lips sealed, which, considering the situation, is probably a good idea.
