“Watchers on the Wall” is another name for the Night’s Watch, so we can infer that this episode features them heavily. Specifically, we think the episode will revolve around the Battle at the Wall, which will feature the invasion of Mance Rayder’s forces. In the books, there are two battles, one at Castle Black from the South, and then one at the Wall from the North. In the show, Jon Snow mentioned that these two attacks are to occur simultaneously, so we can assume that they’ll both be happening in this episode.
If the show follows the book, then Jon Snow is going to lead his ragtag group to victory — at least against the southern group. However, during the battle, Ygritte is going to lose her life, but not before sharing a tender moment with Jon Snow. Tear.
During the main battle, North of the Wall, the Night’s Watch isn’t going to be as successful. Mance’s forces are just too powerful (they have giants, remember), and the Wall is going to come very close to being breached. That is until an unlikely hero shows up.
Who’s that, you say? Why it’s everybody’s favorite wannabe-king, Stannis Baratheon! Yep, Stannis shows up with the whole of his army to rip through Mance’s forces, thus saving the Night’s Watch and the North. That Stannis, what a guy. We’re guessing that’s where the episode will leave us, with Stannis’ victory and then him deciding to stick around at the Wall.
