We're still reeling from the news that Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars, Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes, have traded in their BFF status for resentful frenemies, but Cynthia, for one, seems to be at peace with the falling out. In an "open letter" through Uptown Magazine, Cynthia discusses the demise of their friendship and confesses that she's "relieved" that it's over.
Even though NeNe has been saying that her friendship with Cynthia was always doomed to fail — like all reality TV relationships — and that it was only a matter of time before things fell apart, Cynthia insists that their bond was genuine. The fact that she considered NeNe a true friend made it that much harder to hear NeNe say that she didn't bring anything to the show and that she should be fired.
"She was being completely spiteful and malevolent. How could someone who I considered a really good friend attempt to essentially sabotage my job?" she wrote.
After much thought, Cynthia finally concluded, "There has to be some personal insecurities and unhappiness she is dealing with to lash out so viciously at me. Then it dawned on me. Nene is hurt that I have moved on."
"In the end, I am relieved that our friendship is over," Cynthia admitted.
Still, that doesn't mean she isn't hurt that NeNe would want her to be out of a job.
"I always thought if we ever stopped being friends that we would go our separate ways and wish each other well in our endeavors. I never expected that she would suggest taking food out of my mouth. But then again, Nene Leakes is no Cynthia Bailey," Cynthia said.
