We're adding "gratitude" to the dozens of reasons we love Grey's Anatomy star Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) — as she says that she personally handed presents to some 250-odd co-workers before filming her final scenes on the long-running ABC drama.
During her May 1 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 42-year-old talked about the process of leaving the job she has held (and loved) for the past decade — and, with respect to Gwyneth, it really does sound like a "conscious uncoupling."
"It was really joyous," Sandra told Jimmy. "I have spent this past year wanting to share this experience with everybody and really processing it out. I've been doing this as consciously as possible, honestly, so by that last day, it was a joyous day of work. I was so present with everyone and so thankful."
So how did she say her goodbyes? By hand-delivering a present to each and everyone one of her hundreds of coworkers.
"I wanted to give a gift to everyone, and I couldn't give them all out at once — so I actually had to physically give out, like 250 gifts. And I loved it because I went to each crew member and said, 'Thank you so much.' And something about that process of leaving made it less sad, and so all I could do was experience the joy of how much I love being on Grey's Anatomy."
The Canadian native does admit that there were a few tears shed in the experience: "I gotta tell you, I cried a lot giving out those gifts."
We believe it, but her waterworks will surely be a trickle compared to ours when we watch her last moments as Cristina Yang!
