Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 3 Premiere, “The Next Chapter” — What Did You Think?

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 3 premiered last night (Monday, May 5) with the episode “The Next Chapter” and fans got a chance to quickly catch up with the lives of their favorite Atlanta stars and guys, it was quite the treat.

First, fans are given a quick recap of where everyone’s lives are since we last saw them. Stevie J. and Joseline Hernandez are married, Rasheeda Frost is keeping hubby Kirk Frost around to help with the baby, Mimi Faust and Nikko are back at it like rabbits (this time, with cameras), Lil Scrappy is moving on from Erica Dixon with Bambi, and we’re introduced to newbie Tammy Rivera who is grappling with her insecurities about fiancé, Waka Flocka Flame, staying faithful — and that recap was just the tip of the iceberg.

As the show progressed, we learned that Joseline wants a second, big, white wedding from Stevie, though he seems to be dragging his feet to give it to her. Mimi learns that her sex tape with Nikko (which friends Erica and Ariane were displeased about) was stolen and photos from their freaky night are circulating on the internet. Scrappy seems pretty content just “hanging” with Bambi, but she wants more. And things only get more difficult between them when Momma Dee drops a little chip (or should we say “egg”) on Bambi’s shoulder to make Bambs question if Scrappy is stepping out.

Rasheeda and Kirk don’t make much of an appearance during the premiere, except for when Rasheeda meets with Tammy to discuss how they both struggle to keep from strangling their unfaithful mates. Tammy, however, urges Rasheeda to work things out with her husband of 17 years. This, of course, is going to be quite the task now that Rasheeda’s mom, Sherleen, is helping out with baby Karter. Since Kirk’s infidelity, Sherleen views Kirk as the enemy. Kirk is trying to stay cool about it all, but he reveals that he still doubts if Karter is his son.

The show ends with Joseline and Stevie getting into huge fight over Erica and Ariane Davis questioning her marriage to Stevie and Mimi sending the couple a stripper pole as a gift. Joseline seems to be putting her foot down with Stevie, and he’s not too happy about this downside that comes with married life.

As far as premieres go, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 3 definitely set the scene for what we’ll be seeing as the season progress and of course, we can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next.
