Comedy Central Names Stephen Colbert’s Replacement — Who Is It?
Stephen Colbert will have some pretty large shoes to fill when he leaves the 11:30 p.m. spot at Comedy Central. Here’s hoping Daily Show “senior black correspondent” Larry Wilmore has big feet!
The network has announced its plans for dealing with the absence of the Colbert Report on its weeknight lineup when Stephen takes over David Letterman’s desk on CBS’s Late Night. Rather than find a substitute for the inimitable host, Comedy Central will debut a new program, The Minority Report With Larry Wilmore, in January 2015.

Described as “a comedic look at news, current events, and pop culture from unique perspectives not typically on display in late night television,” Minority Report is not only hosted by Larry but co-executive produced, alongside The Daily Show “anchor” Jon Stewart.
Larry has been making us laugh on The Daily Show since 2006, so we’re confident he’s going to be a great and refreshing addition to the late night landscape. His co-producer praised him as a “brilliant comic and showrunner,” but joked that the creation of this new show is “all just a complicated ruse to get him to move to New York and turn him into a Knicks fan.”
In response, Larry adds that he “loves the city of New York” and vows he will only wear his Lakers shirts “when [he’s] layering.”
Will you watch Larry’s show when it comes to Comedy Central next January?
