Original story (May 16, 2014): Jennifer Lawrence is upset with Jimmy Fallon, and for the best possible reason to be upset with anyone: He ditched her in her time of need when she was trying to meet Jennifer Lopez.
As J.Law tells it, she and Jimmy were together at an event, spotted J.Lo, and choreographed a special dance for her. But when it came time to ask Jennifer to join in, Jimmy was nowhere to be seen.
“We came up with this idea together, first of all. We both saw J.Lo, and this was, like, ten Jello shots in,” the American Hustle star explains. “And I’ve never done Jello shots. I didn’t go to college.”
“So we were dancing, we see J.Lo, and we were like, ‘We gotta ask J.Lo to dance!’” Jen continues. “So I was like, ‘What we’ll do, is we’ll do a spin, and we’ll go, ‘Dance with us.’”
Which should’ve totally worked — who wouldn’t be charmed by those kind of sweet moves? But unfortunately, the entire plan kind of backfired. By the time Jennifer was mid-spin, she realized Jimmy was gone.
“And it’s just me, looking at J.Lo, and going, ‘Dance with me,’” Jennifer says. “And she was like, ‘No. I’m think just gonna observe.’ You made me look like a freak in front of J.Lo! Do you know what that feels like?”
Poor Jennifer. We totally would have jumped in there and committed to that awesome choreography, had we been at that event. Next time you need a dance partner, call us instead!
Update (May 20, 2014): At the Billboard Music Awards on May 18, Jennifer Lopez cleared the air and told Access Hollywood that her refusal to dance with Jennifer was just a miscommunication: "This is how I remember it: I remember that we were at the Met Ball, and Kanye was about to perform, and it was like a crazy moment. And then they came over. Jimmy Fallon, he started talking — and I was with Benny [Medina] and Beau [Casper Smart] — and then [Jennifer] came over, too. It was like they were a little group.
"And then she was like, 'Let's go dance,'" J.Lo continues. "And I was like, 'No, I'm good right here.' But I didn't mean it like 'I don't want to dance with you.' I just meant, like, 'It's so crowded in here. Let's stay right here.' … No, absolutely c'mon. [Dancing with her] would have been so sweet."
Alright, so can they just have a take two as some hopping Hollywood dance spot?
