It takes a lot of courage to be on The Bachelorette, especially knowing that Andi Dorfman isn’t just there to go out with all the guys — she has to eliminate all but one! But though it’s understood that not every guy can walk away a winner, it’s gotta be tough to be cut on the first night. Unfortunately for six of her 25 guys, that was the case, and they were sent packing without sleeping it off in Bachelor Mansion.
When it came down to the final rose of the evening, seven guys looked hopefully toward the 26-year-old Atlanta girl. But Nick Sutter snagged the last bud of the evening, leaving the rest of the guys outta luck.
The first to approach Andi post-news delivery was Emil “Anal with an M” Schaffroth, who was a good sport about it all. “Oh, bye, Emil,” the brunette greeted him affectionately. Next up was bartender Mike “Camps” Campanelli, who was also pretty cool about it. “It was nice to get to know you. I hope you find what you’re looking for,” he told her on his walk out.
But while Steven “Cali Boy” Woolworth was cut for no reason for being just a little too chillaxed, Rudie Dane got the ax for his intensity, or something. The clearly crestfallen fella took a few moments in his ITM to reveal a bit too much about his loss. “This is a curveball. It’s not what I expected. I came in here and was aiming for the fences,” he said, cuz sports. “Everyone I know was like ‘you’re going to get married and have kids,’ but I guess she just didn’t feel that.” Nope, guess not, pal.
Doctor Jason Leep gave it the old med school try, but fell flat in his “you have a fever… cuz you’re hot” joke delivery, and didn’t vibe with the Dorfster. “Oh Jason, it was so nice to meet you. You’re going to find yourself a catch,” she comforted him. But the pink tied guy was totally bumming. “I’m definitely disappointed. It makes me think, is there something that you could’ve done different?” Yeah, buddy, that joke.
Josh Bauer hugged her but didn’t say a word. “I’m here talking to you instead of being up there with all of those guys. You come here looking for a wife and then you hear all the guys up there cheersing. It’s embarrassing.” He said a friend twisted his arm into it and seemed extremely pissed that he was eliminated. Strangely, his haterade was mostly because he didn’t get to hang out with his dude-bros, not because he missed out on Andi… “I embarrassed the f—k out of myself for one night? I’m going to call my parents tomorrow and tell them I’m coming home.” #husbandmaterial.
Next week, another crop of great guys goes home, and it’ll be hard to watch them go. But that’s just the way the world turns, here on The Bachelorette.
