Watch Blake Shelton and Jake Worthington Sing on The Voice 2014 (VIDEO)

On May 19, coach Blake Shelton joined Jake Worthington on stage for a rousing performance of “A Country Boy Can Survive” by Hank Williams Jr.

It makes sense that Blake would choose a real “outlaw” song for the two of them to sing for their duet performance, since it appeals to their old school country predilections. We’re a little bummed that Jake didn’t get to have his guitar, too! Nevertheless, he delivered a powerful vocal and stood up well alongside a pro like Blake.

We liked the performance, but can’t help but feel like something a little more upbeat and fun would have been great for these two, who behave so much like siblings despite their big age gap. Something like “Red Solo Cup” by Toby Keith or “I’ve Got Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks would’ve been a hoot.

What did you think of Jake Worthington’s performance tonight? Tell us below!
