Orphan Black: Will Cosima’s Health Improve After Leekie’s Injection?
Picking our favorite clone (all expertly played by Tatiana Maslany) on Orphan Blackis like asking us to pick our favorite best friend. Okay, fine, it’s Alison. The point is, we love them all (even Helena), so we have to say we’ve been pretty distressed about Cosima’s failing health.
Thankfully, Dr. Leekie (Matt Frewer) disobeyed Rachel’s orders and administered an experimental treatment that ostensibly will help Cosima’s health improve or at least stop it from getting worse. But the question is, will it actually help? We guess that depends on two things.
For one, let’s remember that Leekie called the treatment experimental. As in, not too extensively tested? Sure, it could help, but it could also make things much, much worse if something goes wrong. Obviously, Cosima must be feeling pretty desperate about the state of her health to so readily submit to being a guinea pig.
The other question at hand is whether or not Leekie can be trusted. After all, a) he is super creepy and b) he basically raised Rachel, so to defy her demands so readily definitely makes us scratch our heads. Then again, he seems to genuinely have a vested interest in the clones’ well-being. Now, whether that stems from some sort of benevolent, paternal urge or a scientist’s fervent need to preserve his data is a toss-up as far as we’re concerned.
What do you think? Will Leekie’s treatments help Cosima’s health improve?
