Wetpaint teamed up with Viggle LIVE! to ask Vigglers if they would have saved Amy and her DWTS pro Derek Hough from elimination and made her victorious — and surprisingly, only 39 percent said yes, while 61 percent agreed with America’s decision to crown America’s sweetheart Meryl Davis the winner.
Meryl and Amy have been favorites from the beginning. This judges have praised Amy for being an inspiration on and off the dancefloor. Amy wasn’t just dancing on prosthetics — having lost both her legs below the knee at age 19 — she danced incredibly well this season. Amy’s grace created beautiful lines, and she managed to adapt to her prosthetics well enough to wow anyone who might think dancing was out of the question after a double-amputation. Meanwhile, Meryl was America’s sweetheart from the beginning. Having just won gold at the 2014 Olympics with her ice dancing partner Charlie White, she was a clear favorite from the start. And her passion and enthusiasm for dance, coupled with her expert skill, made her one of the best dancers — if not THE best dancer — this season.
Plus, it’s always nice to see Maks knock Derek off his podium. Sorry, Derek! We still love you and your avant-garde choreography.
What do you think, Wetpaint readers? Would you have saved Amy from elimination so that she would have been crowned the Season 18 champ? Sound off in the poll below!
I think Amy should have won.
Meryl deserved it!
