NJ Politician: Survivor Winner Tony Vlachos Should Be Fired As Cop For Lying on TV

Sounds like somebody missed the concept of Survivor as a game — unless this guy is an extreme Team Spencer or Team Woo fan.

Earlier this week, Jersey City, NJ police officer Tony Vlachos, 40, won Survivor: Cagayan, after lying and manipulating the cast on his way to a million dollars. He played a fantastic game. But not to Congressional hopeful named Aaron W. Fraser — who is asking Mayor Steve Fulop to fire Tony for showing himself to be a "trickster, liar, backstabber and dealer" on Survivor Season 28.

But that's not all Fraser wants.

As he wrote on his website on Thursday, the day after the Survivor finale:

"Hundreds, if not thousands, have gone to Prison on his testimony alone. Here is a man that swore on his mother, father, and unborn kids, that he was telling the truth. He lied on numerous occasions with a straight face; that same straight face he used in court to convict Drug dealers and killers based on his ‘Sworn’ testimony. [...] I am not only asking for the immediate firing of Vlachos, I am also asking that a special prosecutor look at all the cases that he has been involved in where the individual went to prison or was convicted of a crime based on his testimony in court or police report."

Good lord.

Listen, pushing someone over on the sidewalk is not only mean, it's assault and could get you arrested, but pushing someone down in a football game is called a "tackle" and it's part of the game. You can't win without it. Survivor is a game where manipulation and strategy are key to survival, and sometimes you have to lie or you'll be the one voted out. Tony played the game very well and the jury, after beating him up with bitter comments, rightly rewarded him for it.

It's scary that this guy apparently can't distinguish between reality and reality TV, but at least he's getting himself more attention. That's what a lot of people go on reality TV for to begin with.
