Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 8: Sophie Turner Comes Into Her Own
Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) has been a pawn for basically her entire run on Game of Thrones. Bounced around from Joffrey to Tyrion to Littlefinger, she’s been at times naive, foolish, and helpless, but things may be finally starting to turn around for the eldest living Stark.
People may have had issues with Sansa the character in the past, but actress Sophie Turner has consistently received praise for her portrayal. According to director Alex Graves, who directed Season 4, Episode 8, Sophie takes Sansa to all whole new level in the episode.
“One of my favorite scenes, actually, and Sophie [Turner] really came into her own and is so wonderful in it, is the scene with Littlefinger, it's the ‘Trial of Littlefinger’ as we called it,” Alex tells International Business Times. “That scene is brilliant, and she's incredible, they all are, but that's the beginning of a big storyline and especially with Sophie pulling off the shell game of the trial.”
We’re guessing the “Trial of Littlefinger” consists of him trying to explain the death of his wife Lysa Arryn, whom he murdered, and Sansa’s role as the sole witness to the crime. Will she turn on Littlefinger and tell the truth? Or will she lie and keep him around, showing that she’s starting to learn how to play the game? We’ll have to wait and see!
