America’s Got Talent may have just started on its annual summer fling but we’re already looking forward to crowning this year’s champion. That is, after all, why we watch, right? To see which talented star will rise from the masses, wow the judges, and take home the title.
So when will Season 9 wrap? NBC hasn’t announced a specific date (they’re a touch busy trying to make sure Nick Cannon doesn’t actually become a professional mime) but we can make a pretty good guesstimate. After all, this is series No. 9 in the reality TV show’s history and if this year is anything like previous ones, the schedule should take us through the summer.
Flipping through our 2013 calendars, we have the AGT Season 8 finals ending on September 17 and 18 in a two-part extravaganza. We expect a similar set-up this September but the finale will likely arrive earlier since the premiere for 2014 was Tuesday, May 27, instead of last year’s June 4 air date. So, for now, we say keep the nights of Tuesday, September 9, and Wednesday, September 10, clear.
Of course, we’ve still got plenty of hurdles to clear before making it to the last episode. If 2014 mirrors 2013’s schedule, auditions will probably keep us occupied until early July and then we’ll switch to two nights a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) as the contestants compete in Vegas, then quarterfinals, semis, and finally, the Top 12 and the final.
