If you tuned in for the premiere of Kandi Burruss’s wedding spin-off — and it looks like a lot of you did — you probably had a hard time watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s emotional fight with bestie Carmon Cambrice. The tiff culminated with Carmon quitting as Kandi’s assistant/wedding planner, but where do things stand between them now?
For one, Kandi reveals Carmon is still doubling as her best friend and employee!
“She still works for me... LOL!” Kandi tells BravoTV.com. “I told her she could work for me as she looked for something else, but it doesn't seem like she's looking for anything, LOL! That's what happens when your friends work for you.”
While we can’t imagine working that closely with our BFF, we have to imagine knowing one another that well helps at times. That sort of deep understanding is clear when Kandi talks about Carmon’s reactions to Todd’s concerns about the wedding planning.
“Carmon doesn't take criticism well,” Kandi admits. “She doesn't want to hear it. In her mind she's never wrong. I'm used to Carmon's attitude, so nothing she says or does is surprising to me.”
When it comes to picking sides on the issue, the newlywed doesn’t explicitly do so, but she does concede that Carmon “got sensitive and overreacted” after the conversation.
“She says that Todd was being mean for no reason, and she felt like he was speaking for me,” Kandi explains of Carmon’s position. “She was like, ‘If you wanted to fire me, you should've done it and not send Todd to do your dirty work.’ I did not ask Todd to do anything for me. If I wanted to fire her, I would've told her.”
While it sounds like these two had some issue to work through, things seem much better now. Sometimes you got to hash it out with your best friends to get to a better place!
