The Glee cast is loaded with Broadway vets, like original cast members Lea Michele (Rachel), Matthew Morrison (Mr. Schuester), and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), and when you look at the FOX dramedy’s extended cast (including actors in supporting and guest roles) the talent pool is even more impressive and Broadway-heavy, so it’s no surprise that one frequent Glee guest star was just added to the list of presenters at the 2014 Tony Awards.
Who is this talented Broadway baby, you ask?
Why it’s none other than Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James)! The Frozen actor announced the Tony nominations back in April alongside Elementary’s Lucy Liu, so his inclusion in the ceremony isn’t exactly a surprise, but we’re still psyched to see him on our TVs this Sunday night. Maybe his Spring Awakening co-star and Glee’s leading lady Lea Michele (Rachel) will even be his date for the evening!
Per TVLine, other presenters just announced for the June 8 awards show include Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean), Barrett Foa (NCIS: Los Angeles), rapper T.I., LL Cool J (NCIS: Los Angeles), and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers). Not bad company to keep, J.Groff!
As an added bonus, American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson will perform a number from the upcoming musical Finding Neverland.
