The clock is ticking down to the final weeks before Jessica Simpson’s summer wedding, and that can only mean one thing: A bachelorette party! Usually, this means a wild night partying that you usually regret in the morning, but Jessica decided to go a different route. Instead, she kept it low key.
According to People, Jess and her fiance, former NFL star Eric Johnson, decided to combine their bachelor and bachelorette parties into one big bash, inviting 40 of their closest friends to celebrate their upcoming nuptials at the Warwick in Los Angeles on June 8.
And a friend of Jessica’s explains that their decision to go co-ed was in keeping with the spirit of sharing their lives together — and just wanting to have fun, no scandalous behavior required.
“They didn’t want a traditional bachelor-bachelorette where they go off and do their own thing, because our group of friends is so close we just all wanted to be together,” Stephanie Terblanche, one of Jessica’s bridesmaids, said. “This is what we would do anyway. We would all go out, and I think that this speaks for the group. If we are not going to be at someone’s house playing beer pong, this is the closest thing to it.”
And as long as Jessica, Eric, and their friends had fun, that’s all that matters. Even Jessica’s mom, Tina, and Eric’s dad were in attendance. Family friendly bachelorette parties… could we see the start of a new trend?
Reportedly, Jess and Eric plan to tie the knot in Santa Barbara, California over the 4th of July weekend, and Jessica has already promised that their wedding will be an affair to remember.
“It will definitely be extravagant,” the 33-year-old mom of two said last month. “I don’t do things small.”
We can’t wait for wedding photos. We need to see Jessica’s dress, ASAP.
