Don't believe what you may see online, folks. Ryan Gosling has never had a gosling in his flock.
That post you saw go viral from a "Ryan Gosling" Facebook page — in which "Ryan" talks about being a father to an adopted baby for one year — is a hoax.
"This Father's Day, I've decided to tell the story of how I became a father," the post began. "This little guy was only nine months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her I'd always look after him. So, I had decided to step up and become his dad. He brought me so much joy. He was my everything."
That's when the story takes a soap-worthy turn: "One year later after the adoption, his biological father wanted him. Of course, I put up a fight, but he won. That one year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally. We have to stop and be thankful for our children and children should stop and be thankful for their parents. What I truly learned most of all is, every child needs love."
Here's the rub: The Drive heartthrob doesn't have a Facebook page.
Furthermore, the post asks readers to "save the children" by clicking on a link… that leads to a website selling Ryan Gosling-adorned clothing. Uh-huh.
And, as Snopes.com points out, one simply cannot adopt a baby unless the parents give up their rights or had their parental rights terminated.
Perhaps that's why the post has since been deleted. Lucky for you, you can still see the original message— and a swoon-worthy photo of Ryan holding an unrelated baby — in the video above!
