Real Housewives of New Jersey

Amber Marchese Back at Gym After Burst Ovarian Cyst, Week-Long Illness

Real Housewives of New Jersey newbie Amber Marchese sounds like a pretty tough cookie.

We know she's going to stir up drama with just about everyone when Season 6 premieres in July, but she's had even tougher battles behind the scenes.

When introducing Amber, Bravo noted that the mother of two (and stepmother of two more) was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 31. Thankfully, she's been cancer-free for five years. But life has plenty of curveballs to throw us all, and on June 17, Amber posted an Instagram pic sharing some of her recent hurdles.

"I was sick for a week and had an ovarian cyst burst, but back working hard in the gym today," she wrote with the photo shown. "Had 7 surgeries and 2 c sections but that was by far the worst pain...who knew? #womenproblems #aintnothinggoingtoholdmedown #fitness #musclesarebeautiful"

Yikes! A ruptured ovarian cyst is nothing to sneeze at. It's good to hear she's feeling better — and it actually sounds like she's feeling great. She also tweeted, "coffee ready, mind clear, and so over the top excited for my first round of interviews. #bravotv #RHONJ #Gratitude #Blessings #letsdothis."

Sounds like Amber is ready for her close-up — but we'll have to see if viewers, and the other H'wives, are ready for her. Stay healthy, newbie!

Catch the Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6 premiere on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET.
