Fans got the chance to see Tamar Braxton and her husband, Vincent “The” Herbert, in action on their reality spin-off show, Tamar & Vince, and a lot of it wasn’t pretty. Between Tamar’s inability to let her hubby get in a word edgewise and Vince’s habitual shutting down during serious conversations, fans thought maybe these two were headed toward divorce. But guys, that’s totally not the case. In fact, Tamar recently revealed that had it not for the reality show, her marriage wouldn’t have lasted!
“Had it not been for the show Tamar & Vince I probably wouldn’t be sitting here today,” Tamar told gospel singer and radio host Yolanda Adams on The Yolanda Adams Morning Show. Tamar says she and Vince were able to see the real problems in their relationship after watching their lives play out on the small screen.
“It was a lot of things going on in our relationship that we didn’t realize until we watched it back,” she explains.
Because of the new perspective, the couple worked on their issues. Tay-Tay also got inspiration to make beautiful music on her new album, Love & War. “Those songs wouldn’t have been written,” Tamar remarked. “It was therapeutic and some of those things have to be said. Sometimes when you’re in a relationship, you don’t know how to bring things up.”
Well, Tamar’s therapy session did quite well and even earned the singer three Grammy Award nominations on her sophomore album.
But while Tamar may praise reality TV for saving her marriage, has it broken up her relationship with her sisters? In the last clip for Braxton Family Values Season 4, Tamar is seen yelling at her siblings and even says she’s done doing reality TV with them!
Will Tay-Tay be able to mend that relationship? Guess we’ll just have to see!
Braxton Family Values Season 4 airs this August, and Tamar & Vince Season 3 returns this fall.
