She stuck the dismount! Kerri Strug, the gold medalist perhaps most famous for competing on a severely injured ankle during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, has welcomed Baby No. 2!
The Magnificent Seven member welcomed a daughter with husband Robert Fischer last month.
Now 36, Kerri gave birth to little Alayna Madaleine in the early hours of June 26. She measured in at 19.25 inches long and weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz.
The couple, who married in April 2010, have a 2-year-old son back home and we’ll just warn you now, the photo of Tyler William cradling his baby sister has us doing backflips.
“Robert and I are so proud of our family,” Kerri tells People. “We were so excited to give Tyler a sibling a couple of weeks ago, especially a baby sister.”
Proud mama Kerri adds their new addition is “beautiful and doing well.”
“She is a good baby with a healthy appetite,” she continues. “We know she is going to follow in her big brother’s footsteps and be independent, funny, and extremely active before we know it!”
With a world-class athlete as a mom, we totally believe it! Congratulations to Kerri, Robert, and the whole family on Alayna’s arrival.
