The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead: Emily Kinney, Norman Reedus, Greg Nicotero in Atlanta — After Filming? (PHOTOS)

The Walking Dead’s new sheriff in town has officially been spotted in Atlanta!

TWD Season 5 is currently shooting in the ATL, and so is Norman Reedus’ (Daryl Dixon) movie Triple Nine with his old friends Aaron Paul and Clifton Collins Jr. TWD fans have been trying desperately to figure out what happened to Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), and to see if Emily has even been on location for filming. She was reportedly seen on set just last week, and on July 18, she and Clifton shared photos from a night out, suggesting Emily was not only in Atlanta, she was hanging out with Norman (and maybe filming with him?).

Clifton shared the pic above, with Norman, Emily, TWD director/producer/special effects guru Greg Nicotero, Slash of Guns N' Roses (!), and a musician from the Atlanta-based band Avenue of the Giants: "Good set break, back 2wrk. Gona mis this gig! @aotgmusic bmf greg nicotero @emmykinney @slash @bigbaldhead #WalkingDead #999 #badassery"

Avenue of the Giant's Instagram also shared the pic on July 18, writing, "#dinner tonight in the #atl with my homie @mrwupass also present... #slash #normanreedus #emmykinney and #gregnicotero we coming... Are you listening yet? You should be #avenueofthegiants #aotg #aotgmusic taking over!" Emily shared a similar photo below.

So at least we know Emily is definitely in the Atlanta area, which may not sound significant, but she’s been in New York and L.A., doing all kinds of interviews and gigs for her music career, and we started to worry that the Beth story was already told in the early episodes of filming. But if Emily is back in ATL action, maybe it means her storyline is back in focus on the show?

They’ve been doing a lot of segmented filming so far in Season 5, which isn’t really unusual, with certain groups filming for a few days while others appear to be off-set and even out of the Georgia area. We may see some bottle episodes just focusing on a few characters, like in Season 4, but hopefully they’ll figure out a way to show as many characters as possible in each episode, since we like when the gang is all together.

Do these photos make you hopeful that Beth and Daryl are still alive and possibly in the same group at this point in Season 5?

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
