Does anybody know fancy better than Iggy Azalea? Apparently not since the Aussie rapper just landed herself a new gig hosting iconic fashion series House of Style.
Starting in just a couple short weeks, Iggy will show us what she’s working with as a hostess on the MTV series. The show originally ran from 1989 until being canceled in 2000; during that 11-year run hosts included the likes of Revenge’s Amber Valletta and supermodel Cindy Crawford. More recently, Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls took the helm for a 2012 reboot so Iggy, you’ve got some big high heels to fill!
For this latest incarnation of the iconic series, look for Iggy to cover street style in Los Angeles’ best vintage stores and music sets, reports Variety. Good pal and music collaborator Rita Ora’s said to be one of the guest stars, which has us 50 shades of excited.
This round of House of Style, all eight episodes of it, will help build moment for the August 24 Video Music Awards, another big event for Iggy, with a season recap special airing two days later on August 26.
Iggy couldn’t seem more thrilled by her new project. “The biggest impact that House of Style had on pop culture is its ability to make fashion fun and interesting to fans who are both die-hard fashionistas or not at all,” she said of the news. “I am so excited to bring back this iconic show for another generation of teenagers.”
