Tiny Harris Says There’s “A Lot” the Public Doesn’t Know About Her Life With T.I.
Last week, Tameka “Tiny” Harris dropped a new single, “What the F—k You Gon Do?” that caused scores of fans to question Tiny’s marriage to Atlanta rapper T.I. Tiny took a minute to squash the rumors of a breakup, saying the couple’s doing fine, but she also revealed the song was indeed based on personal experience. Now, the singer is revealing a little more about the song’s inspiration, saying the public is still in the dark about her love life.
“My new song is a statement,” Tiny unveiled in a recent Vibeinterview. The pint-sized Grammy Award winner added, “Some people might say, ‘Why put your business in a song?’ It’s because this is my life and my truth and this is how I choose to express it. Isn’t that what we do as entertainers? We go through stuff and we write about it. I wrote this song a year ago. I never planned to put it out. It was therapy for me. At the time, I was really going through a lot, stuff that the public didn’t know and still doesn’t know. And over the past year, as things have unfolded publicly, people expected me to speak on it. And then I realized I did speak on all of this, a year ago, in this song. So it made sense to release it.”
Hmm… so essentially Tiny is using an old song to address issues newly brought to light? It’s troubling to think that these issues have been lingering for more thana year, but the singer said the duo are working on it. In fact, Tiny gushed about how happy she was to see Tip bring a little reality to his newest single, which touches on some of the things they’re dealing with.
“I love that he expressed himself that well. I’ve watched him in the studio and his work ethic is effortless. So to hear him put that energy into something like this…it made me happy. And since we’ve been going through…whatever… to hear that meant a lot to me,” she said.
Sounds to us like T.I. should keep making music for his ol’ lady to get back whatever it is they lost. Just because it didn’t work for Robin Thicke, doesn’t mean it won’t work for T.I.!
