Phaedra Parks may have had some seriously bad luck lately, thanks in large part to hubby Apollo Nida’s return to illegal activity, but it looks like things are suddenly looking up for this Southern belle.
Despite all the drama at home, Phaedra recently received a prestigious honor for remaining on the right side of the law.
Phaedra retweeted the National Bar Association, the country’s oldest organization of African-American lawyers and judges, who announced via Twitter, “@PhaedraParks receives Maynard Jackson Jr. Legacy Award.Congratulations for her service & commitment to legal work.”
Named after Atlanta’s first black lawyer and civil rights hero Maynard Jackson, Jr., the award is given to lawyers who are “empowering the future and providing leadership of our communities as did the late Honorable Maynard H. Jackson Jr.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star hanked the National Bar for the award, but it seems as though professional accolades are likely the last thing on her mind at the moment.
While her legal career may be flourishing, Phaedra’s reality career may be coming close to its end. According to various RHoA insiders, Phaedra is so overwhelmed with her hubby’s impending eight-year prison sentence and the prospect of living as a single mother that she will be taking a leave of absence from the upcoming season of the show.
