The Bachelor

Arie Luyendyk Jr Speaks Out on Real Reason He Wants to Be Bachelor 2015!

The race for who will be crowned Bachelor 2015 is heating up in a big way! Chris Soules, the gentleman farmer from Andi Dorfman’s just-finished season, is going head-to-head with Arie Luyendyk, Jr., the kissing bandit and runner-up in Emily Maynard’s love race. While Chris seems to be banking on Twitter votes for the title, Arie is taking matters into his own hands by writing a pretty heartfelt blog about why he wants the title of King Rose Giver.

On Patheos, a faith-based website to which The Bachelor Season 17’s Sean Lowe regularly contributes, Arie writes how his newfound faith has driven him to want to find “a lifelong partnership of love and adventure.”

The racecar driver has been understandably focused on his high-octane career these past few years — even making the exciting leap to owning his own team for the first time this past season — which has left little room for a relationship. But his blog chronicles how a run-in with a religious-minded community opened his eyes to the importance of love: “I’m tired of letting my relationships take a back seat to my career. The show would give me the opportunity to slow down and meet someone willing to be a part of my life — as crazy as that life is.”

The heartthrob goes on to campaign for the lead role by writing words that are magic to Arie fans’ ears: “I want what my parents have always had...I’m ready for marriage. I’m ready to open my heart up again for love.” So what does that love look like? It appears a lady hoping to win Arie’s heart must be ready to travel the racing circuit — and she must also be a woman of faith. “More than anything,” he writes, “I want someone who can join me as I continue my spiritual journey...The Bachelor is all about journeys, right?”

So ladies, looks like if the powers that be at ABC pick Arie over Chris, Emily’s ex is ready — are you? Get your application in now!
