After watching Samantha DeBianchi work her magic at her small firm, DeBianchi Real Estate, during Season 1 of Million Dollar Listing Miami, the time has come for this Florida gal to make a huge career decision. Will she stick with the business she founded or will she join a big firm? That’s the exact dilemma we face Sam in during tonight’s finale.
“The past few months have been extremely hard for me,” Sam tells the camera, arriving at Sotheby’s International Realty to meet with Mayi de la Vega. “I love having my own company, but I still haven’t been able to achieve my goal of breaking into that Miami ultra-luxury market.”
Sam is at Sotheby’s to hear more about the business, with Mayi looking to poach her and bring her aboard. Given Sam’s “over-the-top, out-of-the-box thinking” that we’ve seen so far this season, we’re not surprised at all.
“You know, Sam, I started as you did, with a small boutique office and I did great. I was selling about $150 million to $200 million a year by myself with a small group of people. And then I had this opportunity,” Mayi begins, giving her best sales pitch. “We are a company that really stands out — we’re not your typical real estate company — and we’re looking for someone that is driven, goal-oriented, and you seem to fit that profile.”
But Sam doesn’t seem 100 percent convinced just yet, and she asks Mayi what making the move to Sotheby’s would mean for her career going forward.
“Sotheby’s International Realty is huge, it’s a global brand that is just going to open infinite doors for you. We provide the entire listing presentation for you, so it’s ready,” Mayi says. “You don’t have to waste your time doing duties assistants should be doing. You’re out there networking, meeting people, talking to people. It’s a perfect combination, your skill set and what we have to offer you. And, in this office, you’ll become a dominating listing agent. So what’s holding you back?”
Will Sam decide to make the big move? You’ll have to watch and find out!
Million Dollar Listing Miami’s Season 1 finale airs tonight, August 13, at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
