Jim Parrack Drinks His Fiancée’s Blood — No, Really! (VIDEO)
The actors on True Blood have grown accustomed to drinking blood throughout the HBO show’s seven-year run, but of course the blood in question isn’t actually real. For one of the show’s stars however, drinking real blood would be no big deal, as it’s already something he does a few times a year. If you can stomach it, read on for all of the gory details.
During a recent chat with Vulture, actor Jim Parrack (Hoyt Fortenberry) got the ball rolling by admitting that he occasionally enjoys a taste of his fiancée’s — Hunger Games actress Leven Rambin — blood after the interviewer brought up the fact that he answered “blood” when someone asked him what he wanted to drink months earlier, following one of his performances in Of Mice and Men. While Jim dished that he doesn’t indulge in Leven’s blood on a regular basis (thank god), he did cop to taking a sip “a couple times a year.”
For the record, Jim is well aware that this habit makes him seem a little nuts. “It’s more like on an impulse,” he explains. “When you make me spell it out like this, it sounds strange, but I just want to be clear — that night, I was being literal. There was something about that night where I had that impulse. I guess the best way to put it is sometimes I just like the way it tastes.”
But if you see Jim walking down the street, there’s no need to run away in fear, because he reveals that he won’t drink just anyone’s blood. “I’m absolutely particular,” he says with a laugh. “It’s not like it’s just anybody’s! That particular night, it was my girl.”
And while Jim’s bloody craving may gross you out (rightfully so!) there’s no need to worry for Leven’s safety either. “I don’t mean copious amounts of blood. I’m not getting a glass of it or something,” he clarifies. “But if you drink it, it does something to you emotionally. It’s hard to describe. It’s kind of like you’re in the moment, and the impulse comes, and … I like it.”
Well, okay then!
