50 Cent’s $750K Challenge: Floyd Mayweather Can’t Read (UPDATE: How About Dr. Seuss?) (VIDEO)
Update (4:15 p.m. PST, August 21, 2014):
Breaking news, you guys! Fiddy got a call from Jimmy Kimmel and Floyd has been invited to accept 50’s challenge live on Jimmy’s show (see the rapper share the news on his Instagram). And, to make the deal all the sweeter, 50 Cent has changed the reading material from Harry Potter to The Cat in the Hat. This is getting serious.
Original story (2:40 p.m. PST, August 21, 2014):
Leave it to 50 Cent to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to the next level. The “Candy Shop” rapper recently had his turn at the popular fundraiser, which gives participants the choice of either donating to ALS research or dumping a bucket of ice water over their heads (many choose to do both). For his nominations of who’s up next, Fiddy set his sights on just one person: boxer Floyd Mayweather.
In the video, 50 Cent tells Floyd he will donate $750,000 (!!!) to Floyd’s charity of choice if the boxer can read just one full page out of a Harry Potter book “out loud without starting and stopping or f—g up.” It’s, 50 says, an “ALS/ELS” challenge (we’re thinking he meant ESL with that last one).
His message sent, Fiddy then grabs a bucket of ice water and shouts “F—k the bucket of ice” as he tosses it onto his nicely manicured lawn, skipping his own drenching. It’s pretty hilarious if you want to check it out for yourself; just be warned, there’s some NSFW language because 50 Cent.
The gauntlet has officially been thrown! Will Floyd accept his nemesis’s latest challenge? Man, let’s hope so.
What do you think? Floyd up to the task or Fiddy might as well burn that money now?
