Chris Soules Makes Debut as Bachelor 2015 — See His First Interview! (VIDEO)
Here he is, America: Your official Bachelor 2015 Chris Soules! The be-dimpled, Iowa farmer from Andi Dorfman’s Bachelorette 10 made his debut in the Season 19 role on Good Morning America this morning, and after that, we can’t say we blame those execs over at ABC — this dude is wholesome.
Is there a better way to follow up the disastrous Juan Pablo Galavis season — revolving around a noncommittal casanova with a propensity for saying un-PC things — than to go with Chris, who won over hearts on Andi’s season by being a chivalrous Midwesterner with a serious honor code? Not really. You done good here, Bachelor producers.
The 32-year-old hunk helped the network to announce his new gig live on their morning show GMA today, and he started things off on the right foot by delivering roses to both female hosts. Then in between bites of a Double Stuffed Oreo (how sweet!) Chris shared his reactions to nabbing the role.
"I was humbled, flattered, grateful," he begins, adding, “Coming from a small town, I'd never really expected to have this opportunity to be on either show, let alone be the lead on The Bachelor, so it's been awesome."
Chris then talked about his family and how excited they are for him, even shouting out his mom! He also explained how before his time on Bachelorette he was doubtful of the process, but that he’s since converted and really believes you can fall in love on TV.
"That's why I'm doing it," he explains." "I believe in the process. I believe in what I went through on the previous show and that's why I'm doing it. I wouldn't do it if I didn't feel like that was a potential.”
How will he approach the show now? "My focus is going to be to make the girls that are on the show as comfortable as possible because that was my first initial challenge, was opening up to Andi. I'm going to do my best."
Sounds like you’re going to do just fine, Christopher. Way to prove those doubters wrong!
