When you’re Beyoncé, you’re often consider a muse to countless people. But when it comes to her own personal life, the Queen Bee reveals that her biggestmuse is actually her mini-me, 2-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy. Duh!
The “Drunk in Love” singer covers the fifth issue of CR Fashion Book, posing in a floral oversized Yohji Yamamoto cape (fitting since she’s a queen…) and black pumps. She also appears in an art-inspired fashion spread, which is accompanied by an poem written with “words” by Beyoncé, “remixed" by award-winning writer Forrest Gander.
The 32-year-old mama reveals in the piece entitled, “Bey the Light,”just how little Blue inspires her. “It's my daughter, she's my biggest muse. There's someone, we all find out soon, more important than ourselves to lose.”
She continues, “I feel a deep bond with young children — all those photos in my dressing room ‚ especially those who've been stricken. Children I've met across the years — they uplift me like pieces of moon and guide me, whispering in my ear."
While Beyoncé fails to mention her husband of six years, Jay Z, she opens up about her grandmother, spirituality, and ends with a touching wish for the future.
"Utopias they don't much interest me. I always mess things up a bit. It's chaos, in part, that helps us see. But for my daughter I dream a day when no one roots for others to fail, when we all mean what we say."
What’s more, the issue hits newsstands on Beyoncé’s actual birthday (aka B-Day), which falls on September 4. How fitting!
