Grey’s Anatomy’s Jessica Capshaw Had Humble First Job — Despite A-List Mom and Stepdad
There are very few people in the world who have awesome first jobs, and if you do, you’re pretty lucky. But even the cast of Grey’s Anatomy isn’t immune to starting at the bottom of the career ladder — not even someone as talented and awesome as Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins).
This week, Jessica took to Twitter to reveal a detail she probably leaves off of her current resume. As a teen, Jessica’s first paycheck came from her neighborhood Chinese eatery.
“I feel honored to have been working since I was 15 at a local Chinese restaurant… now I have the job of my dreams!” Jessica tweeted. “#workgivesyoupurpose.”
This tidbit about Jessica’s past wouldn’t be so surprising if we didn’t know that she came from a pretty successful family. Jessica’s stepdad is Steven Spielberg (yes, that Steven Spielberg) and her mother is Kate Capshaw, an actress who starred in Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom. We love the fact that a teenage Jessica was taught the valuable lesson of earning and handling money, despite what would seem to outsiders a privileged upbringing.
And, um, considering the news that the Honest Company, co-founded by Jessica’s husband, Christopher Gavigan, is now worth around $1 billion, we have a feeling Jess will never have to go back to her old Chinese restaurant job again.
