One thing's for sure: We are having a really intense year for celebrity death, with losses from all over the entertainment world, from The Vampire Diaries beloved crewmembers to metal frontmen in monster suits to Broadway legends. Whether they saw their name in lights or contributed behind-the scenes, Hollywood is mourning a whole lot of talented people in 2014.
Recently, we suffered two great losses from the comedy world; Robin Williams and Joan Rivers both died this summer. Golden Age actress Lauren Bacall, and Saturday Night Live announcer Don Pardo also left us recently, and we're still reeling over Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman and media prodigy Peaches Geldof.
Other recent departures include iconic child actress Shirley Temple; groundbreaking folk musician Pete Seeger; Mae Young, who helped shape what professional wrestling is today; James Garner, who put "Rockford" in The Rockford Files; and wildly influential poet Maya Angelou.
Let’s take a moment to remember who we’ve lost this year — those who are gone, but not forgotten. And remember to hug your loved ones.
