Kenya Moore is a woman who keeps her word!

Just one day after it was announced that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was canceling a scheduled appearance at her former Detroit high school and postponing her $20,000 donation to the city’s school system, Kenya is making good on at least one of her promises.

Kenya posted a photo of herself holding a $20,000 check made out to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation on Instagram in a hope to silence her detractors.

I'm proud to be able to give back and keep my promise to the Detroit public schools foundation to donate $20,000,” wrote Kenya. “Detroit is a resilient city and so am I. I will continue to shine despite the people who want to see me fail or try to turn my positivity in to negativity. See you soon Detroit! #igotyomoney #kenyalovesthekids #twirlsawayhaters.”

While there’s still no word on when Kenya will reschedule her appearance in the Motor City, she’s doing her part to get others to keep their promises too, calling on her RHoA castmate, NeNe Leakes, to pony up the matching donation she offered, as well.

Are you surprised to hear that Kenya made good on her promise? Do you think she’ll reschedule her appearance at her old high school? Sound off in the comments!
