Grey’s Anatomy: Season 11, Episode 7 Spoiler — Amelia’s Job Is in Jeopardy

Thanks to a recent Entertainment Weekly interview with Caterina Scorsone (via SpoilerTV), we now know how Amelia's past drug problems are coming back to haunt her in Grey's Anatomy Season 11, Episode 7 ("Can We Start Again, Please?"), which airs Thursday, November 13.

We heard a couple weeks ago that the Lady Shepherd's checkered past — which we witnessed on Grey's spinoff Private Practice — would affect her present at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. But now we're learning that her addiction issues resurface when "someone who knows all of her deepest and darkest secrets ends up at the hospital," as Caterina explains. "So her anonymity is severely compromised.

Such a reveal would be bad enough for Amelia's reputation, but the 33-year-old tells EW that her job is on the line, too — explaining that no patient wants to hear that the person cutting into their brain has had issues with narcotics.

Plus, the episode will show the first significant scenes between Amelia and Owen (Kevin McKidd), but it's not the meet-cute that some hopeful shippers have anticipated. Instead, Owen, as Chief of Surgery, is assessing her future at the hospital.

To make matters even worse, Caterina teases that Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Amelia's own brother, may or may not support her during these trials.

Sounds like an unmissable episode, people. Be there or be square.

Grey's Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
