Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and HGAWM Beat 23-Year Ratings Record
If you thought Grey’s Anatomy was slowing down now that it’s been the air for over a decade, think again. Thanks to the Shonda Rhimes-filled Thursdays ABC launched this fall with Grey’s, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder, all three shows are enjoying amazing ratings.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the midseason finales pulled in all kinds of audiences and ridiculously high ratings. Grey’s achieved 8.3 million viewers, while Scandal brought in 10 million. And as for How to Get Away With Murder? It gained 7% more viewers than last week, bringing in 9.8 million. Not too shabby!
The biggest news, though, was that for all four Thursdays in November, ABC had the most viewers of every network for the first time in 23 years. ABC better send a fruit basket Shonda’s way!
And these aren’t even the final numbers. EW says that these numbers could grow when final ratings come in. Nice work, Shonda!
Now, to get through the long, long drought that is the holiday hiatus season. We can do it!
