The former NFL cheerleader-turned-reality star celebrated her five-year anniversary with hubby Tye Strickland this past weekend, and she seems as happy as ever. Mel posted a photo to Instagram with the caption, “8 years of knowing each other, 5 years married, 3 cities lived in, 2 kiddos, and 2 dogs later....still the best decision ever made. 12/12/09.” Awww. Adorable.
The two were married in Mexico and have been going strong since. So how do the parents to daughter, Ava, 3 ½, and son, Beckett, 8 months, keep their love alive? In a video blog Melissa said, "You keep it spicy by keeping the fun in the relationship but also kinda making time for just you two."
Although we’re not sure how the busy mother of two finds the time to make for her hubby since she’s also the co-host of TV show, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, she still somehow finds a way to carve out alone time.
"I don't think it's any secret that you have to work at it much harder once the kiddos come, and the family comes, and the jobs become overwhelming,” she says. “But you make it a priority, we try to remember why we like each other at the end of the day."
Well we sure remember why we like this cute couple! Congrats on five years, guys!
Send your well wishes to Mel and Tye in the comments.
