Looks like congrats are in order for Maggie Grace and writer-director boyfriend Matthew Cooke!
The couple confirmed their engagement with a series of sweet Instagram shots posted on February 18. In the first snap Maggie and Matthew are both smiling broadly and looking into each other’s eyes. And not only is the photo shot by Maggie’s pal Byron Atienza super cute, but it also shows off the Taken actress’ stunning engagement ring.
The photo’s sweet caption starts off with a quote from 13th-century Persian poet and theologist Rumi: “The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers do not finally meet somewhere. They are in each other all along.”
Maggie, 31, later got even more personal, adding, “Matthew Cooke & I are so excited to share our engagement with you guys! I could not feel more grateful to share my life with this incredible man.”
In the second pic announcing their engagement, Matthew — decked out in a dapper tux — is dipping his bride-to-be, who is wearing a long off-white dress and a black jacket. A hint of what’s to come on the couple’s wedding day, perhaps? In the caption, the Lost actress explains, “We're all fancied up for @globalgreen tonight so we thought - let's ask our friend to take a fancy photo! ;) Photo credit : @thisthatbyron.”
“Since we've got the photo thing covered should we just elope ?!” she playfully added.
At the Global Green event Maggie mentioned above, she and her new fiancé walked their first red carpet as an engaged couple. As for the bling on her finger? Maggie described the bauble to USA Today. “It's an antique," she said. "It's from 1810.”
