He’ll always be Khal Drogo Drogo to us, but former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa will soon be immortalized on the big screen as Aquaman in the upcoming blockbuster, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And if you’ve been wondering how the buff actor might look as the King of the Seven Seas, wonder no more! The first picture of Momoa as Aquaman has just been released!
Aquaman has been the butt of a lot of jokes over the years, but judging by the intimidating gaze of Momoa in the photo to the right we don’t think his incarnation is to be taken lightly!
The picture was tweeted out by the film’s director, Zack Snyder, along with the hashtag #unitetheseven, which also is displayed over the photo itself. What does unite the seven mean? No official definition has been released yet, but so far one of the best guesses we’ve heard is that Aquaman wants to unite the seven seas, of which he is king, which theoretically would flood the world and stir up trouble for both Batman and Superman.
Another even more likely theory is that "unite the seven" is referring to the Justice League coming together. This seems likely since the movie’s subtitle is Dawn of Justice, and we know that Aquaman will be a member of The Justice League when that film debuts in 2017, along with Batman, Superman, and the other characters making their debut in Dawn of Justice: Wonder Woman and Cyborg. That adds up to five, and with the Flash and Green Lantern both scheduled to have solo movies existing in the same universe released in the coming years, it’s no great leap to assume they round out the seven.
