Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) might be relatively new to the Grey's Anatomy scene, but is that any excuse for her not knowing how to balance surgery and sex like the other docs? Just check out this sneak peek for the episode airing this Thursday, April 9 — Season 11, Episode 19: "Crazy Love."
As the clip starts, Owen (Kevin McKidd) is catching up with his new lady love, innocently asking her how her surgery went. But Amelia pulls him aside as cheesy, dramatic music tells us that it's time for feelings. (Don't worry — the soundtrack is just temporary.)
Apparently, Amelia's surgery wasn't successful, and she's upset that Owen backed her plan of attack.
"You shouldn't have weighed in. I wish you hadn't," she rants. "You should have stayed out of it. My approach was inferior, and it cost my patient in terrible ways. Can you tell me honestly that you siding with me today was only about that patient and had nothing to do with you and me?"
Owen objects, saying that her strategy was solid, but Amelia will have none of it. "Our brains change when we fall for another person," she continues. "Our neurological pathways get altered and we make choices, we make decisions whether we want to or not. This is why it's not smart to mix personal and professional. All of this could have been avoided if I had just… if we had just kept our professional lives professional. But we didn't. It was a mistake. This is a mistake."
Uh, homegirl, who at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital actually keeps their professional life professional? Don't go yelling at Owen just because you're still figuring it all out!
That's our take, at least. Are we being too harsh on her? Is Owen to blame? Let us know in the comments below, and then watch Grey's Anatomy Season 11, Episode 19 — "Crazy Love" — when it airs at its special time on Thursday, April 9, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
