Is Jon Snow Alive on Game of Thrones? Toys Provide New Evidence

It seems like every day now we receive another morsel of information suggesting that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) will be back on Game of Thrones. There are stars of the show floating theories that he isn’t dead for good, Harington’s continued lack of a haircut, and his showing up in Belfast just in time for filming. As if that wasn’t enough evidence that the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch will return, we’ve now learned that he’s not among the lineup of a new line of toys from HBO celebrating deceased characters of the show.

The toy line, called “Honor the Fallen: The Memoriam Collection,” features popular dead characters like King Joffrey, Oberyn Martell, and the Hound... but no Jon Snow. Isn’t he a pretty prominent dead character to not be featured in such a collection?

Of course, there could be other reasons for his absence. The three characters mentioned all met their maker in Season 4, meaning this toy line may not be up to date enough to feature anyone who gave up the ghost in Season 5 (for instance, we don’t see Stannis or Barristan Selmy). Also, we’re taking this entire toy line with a grain of salt, since we’re definitely not convinced that the Hound is dead on the show either.

So, nice try, HBO, but this toy line doesn’t hold much weight with us. We’re going to believe what we want to believe. Which is that Jon is totally going to live.
