24: Live Another Day — Jack Is Back in First New Footage From 12-Episode Series (VIDEO)

The clock is ticking down to the return of 24 — the pulse-pounding, real-time drama series in which Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) thwarted global catastrophes over the span of 24-hour chapters. The original show ran for eight seasons between 2001 and 2010, and now FOX is bringing Jack back for a 12-episode event series starting May 5.

In the new teaser below, we get an inkling of Live Another Day's plot.

Former Secretary of Defense James Heller (William Devane) is now President, and he's visiting London amid widespread protest over his endorsement of drone warfare.

Jack — still a unfairly-blamed fugitive after the events of Season 8 — is also in London and contacts his old ally, the techno-whiz Chloe O'Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub), expressing concern over a potential assassination attempt on the President and an ensuing world war.

But the CIA — headed by Steve Navarro (Benjamin Bratt) — is targeting Jack, perhaps thinking he's connected to the London terror attacks teased in that Super Bowl promo.

And Jack clearly doesn't have a supporter in White House Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau (Tate Donovan) — who, as it turns out, is married to Jack's ex, Audrey Raines (Kim Raver), who's now the First Daughter.

Sounds like the cards are stacked against Jack, but we all that that's never stopped him before!
