Pretty Little Liars: 3 Things Aria Can Learn From Spencer
Pretty Little Liars’ Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) has a lot in common with her bestie and fellow Liar, Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) — especially this season, as she’s set to discover that the man she loves is “A.” Here are three things we think Aria can learn from bestie Spencer...
How to Survive a Break Down
All signs point to a massive Aria breakdown in Season 4B — and who could blame the pint-sized Liar? The love of her life has been revealed as “A”, the person responsible for making her life a living hell for the past few years and, apparently, driving her best friend to fake her own death.
But, no need to worry, Aria! Spencer has been through all of this before, and survived. Take a page from the Spencer Hastings handbook, and follow these simple rules for surviving a break down:
1. Tackle any and all enemies. 2. Don’t be afraid to go mental (health facility, that is). 3. Engage in strip trivia contests to pass the time. 4. Sweatpants and sweaters are your friends. 5. Sometime, you have to join the enemy to uncover the truth.
How to Deal With Troubled Siblings
Of course, “A”-allied boyfriends aren’t the only shenanigans Spencer and Aria have to deal with. They both have siblings that make being an only child sound awfully enticing. For Spencer, it's big sister Melissa, who may or may not be on the “A” team — but who definitely makes torturing her sister one of her top priorities. For Aria, it is little brother Mike. Though he seems to have made some strides in the past season, past hobbies have included robbing the neighbors, hanging out with Noel Kahn, and yelling at his family members. Aria should follow Spencer’s lead, and set an elaborate trap for her sibling to see what he’s up to. After all, he can’t have been playing lacrosse for all of Season 3.
How to Put Your Friends First
One constant that Spencer can depend on when times get tough are her BFFs, and we hope Aria will remember that as her life falls apart. She might not be able to trust Ezra, or to confide in her own family, but the Liars will always be there for her. That’s what got Spencer through the past few months and that’s why she eventually chose to tell them about Toby’s alliance with “A.” Because, when it comes down to it, the Liars can always count on one another.
