Pretty Little Liars: 4 Reasons We Don’t Want Melissa to Die

We know someone is going to die in the Pretty Little Liars Season 5 summer season's #fAtalfinale, and right now, all signs are pointing to Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto). However, we're holding out hope that Spencer's (Troian Bellisario) older sis will make it through the summer alive.

Why don't we want to see Melissa go? Here are our top four reasons.

1. The Hastings family dynamic is great. The ever-shifting web of loyalties and lies that makes up the Hastings family's dynamic is one of the most endlessly fascinating parts of this show, and Melissa is a big part of that. Whether she's whispering secrets to her dad, or suddenly acting like a loving big sis after weeks of being nothing but shady, Melissa always adds a level of intensity to her scenes that would be dearly missed if she died.

2. She's so involved. Melissa seems to know a lot, and has connections to all sorts of groups, from Mona's army to the original N.A.T. club. We know she's about to spill some big secrets next week, but we doubt she could info-dump everything she knows, and her connections to Rosewood's sketchiest could provide fodder for plenty of storylines to come — but only if she's still alive.

3. Hasn't Spencer been through enough? Spencer already ended up in Radley and had a pill addiction. As tense as her relationship with Melissa is, they're still sisters, and in the end they love each other. We think her death would hit Spencer hard, and we don't know if we can handle another downward spiral.

4. We love Torrey DeVitto. Seriously. We don't want her off the show!
