5 Reasons We’re Excited Dina Manzo Is Back For Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6
"The bitch is back — and if you don't like it, you can kiss my ass."
Oh, we like it! Like Danielle Staub before us, we are freakin' obsessed with Dina Manzo. We don't quite want to skin her and wear her like last year's Versace ... but partly because we're not worthy. Bravo’s original Ice Princess Queen has decided to grace us with her presence in the Real Housewives of New JerseySeason 6, returning as a main cast member for the first time since Season 2.
There are a lot of other changes this season, too — Dina’s estranged sister Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita are both out, Teresa Giudice may be too busy fearing prison to flip any tables, and three newbies will be jockeying for camera time — but if RHoNJ focused the entire season just around Dina we'd be fine with it.
Here are five reasons we're glad she returned to Bravo.
1. All the Glorious Shade
Dina says the darndest things. From her Versace quote to lines like "Karma's a bitch. And so is she,” the witty, confident blonde is arguably the most quotable of the Jersey girls. She hasn’t lost her touch either. Just watch her in the Season 6 promo, as she serenely shades one of the new twins and another H’wife’s husband. Our list of Dina quotes may just double by Week 1. Duck and cover, newbies!
2. The Delivery
It’s not just the quotes with Dina, it’s her deadpan I barely give enough of a crap to insult you delivery. Let the other ladies screech, claw, pull hair, and go over-the-top for attention. Dina proves she’s the alpha diva by not even bothering to raise her voice. She’s New Jersey’s Phaedra Parks — but Dina was doing it first.
Dina is a goddess and we miss just seeing her in H'wives mode. What will she wear? How will she style her hair? These are important questions, people, and we are breathless to know the answers!
4. Grandma Wrinkles
See photo above. Die. Recover. Read this caption from Dina on May 15 : “I may have been the first to leave the upfront tonight but I wanted to come home to hang with my favorite Bravolebrity #grandmawrinkes ❤️” Die again. We don’t deserve this purrfection … but we hope to see more of it in Season 6! (Plus all of Dina’s other furry and completely hairless friends — and Lexi of course. Love them too.)
5. She’s in a Vulnerable, Relatable Transition Phase
RHoNJ Season 1 was in 2009 and Season 2 was 2010. A lot has changed in Dina’s life since then — including the unfortunate family feud between Dina and Caroline, Dina’s daughter Lexi just recently graduating from high school and preparing for college, and Dina currently going through a separation with her husband. Dina may act like she has it all together, but she’s human with the same emotional drama as anyone else going through a tough time. "Despite all the spiritual work that I've done, when I pictured myself 40-something, this was not what I was expecting,” Dina said in her new Bravo video previewing Season 6. “I feel almost alone… all my friends are married with little kids." It should be interesting to see how she handles things. At least she still has her pets!
Are you excited to have Dina back as a full-timer on RHoNJ?
