5 Reasons Sylvia Yacoub Should Have Won The Voice Season 3
As we prepare for next week's live shows on The Voice Season 3, the 8 remaining contestants know that their performances will determine who moves on. And with the competition getting more intense as the weeks progress, some contestants are already starting to stand out as potential winners.
Team Christina’s Sylvia Yacoub consistently surprised us with her fiery enthusiasm and powerhouse vocals, and we thought she should have taken home the top prize. Here’s why:
“She hit notes that Celine Dion doesn’t do, so I was pleasantly surprised by that,” Christina said.
4) She’s fearless. Sylvia’s not afraid to tackle some of the most challenging songs out there. In the knockout rounds, Sylvia even took on her coach, Christina Aguilera’s, iconic song “Fighter.” And last week she brought the house down with the Celine Dion classic, “My Heart Will Go On.”
3) She connects with her coach. Christina has said numerous times that she feels a special bond with her contestant. Xtina has seen some of herself in Sylvia, which can only be a good sign.
2) She’s full of surprises. Just when we thought we’d figured Sylvia out, homegirl takes a seat at the piano and blows everyone away. In her first live show performance, Sylvia played the piano and did a laidback version of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away.” This heartfelt rendition really spoke to America, who has voted her through time and time again.
1) She’s shown us different sides (and we like them all). From a gutsy powerhouse to an emotion-filled artist, Sylvia is definitely no one-trick pony. This contestant has plenty left to show, and we have a feeling she’ll have plenty of time to do so.
