With Glee off the air until its November 7 return from hiatus, we’re dreading the sinking feeling that comes with three Glee-free Thursdays on our hands. So, in the absence of our favorite McKinley High girls, lads, and grads, we’ve got some ideas for you. Namely, while the Fox show is resting up from its emotional Cory Monteith tribute episode, here’s what you should be watching. While some of this is what we’ve already set on our DVR, the rest came from you guys! So, thanks for helping us — and your fellow Gleeks — pass the time!
So, it’s not exactly a Fox sitcom, but the amazing show now in its 17th season has kept us intrigued for years. The choreographed routines and covers of original songs by the DWTS house band brings us back to the Regional, Sectional, and National dance numbers we loved so much. Plus, this season, super-talented Amber Riley is tapping her toes and showing off her hip-shaking prowess as a contestant!
Um, more power to the many of you who suggested that we take a break from the scary-good singing on Glee in order to focus on the scary-scary stories on American Horror Story: Coven. The Ryan Murphy-created series makes the hair on the backs of our neck stand up — much like the idea of waiting three weeks to hear them take a crack at Gaga.
Hot guys who are much older than they appear? Romances that make us yearn for our own ever-lasting pairing? Plotlines that are so out there they make us suspend logic so that we can let ourselves get totally into the story? Sounds like the perfect trio of reasons to tune in.
This show is super — literally. The plot focuses on the newly formed S.H.I.E.L.D. group, which investigates supernatural occurrences (usually rooted in science) and does cool stuff. The colors are bright, the cast is attractive, and they break into song and dance on the reg. Okay, not that last one, but the rest of those are true. Try it on, you might love it.
You have Seasons 1-4 on DVD and Netflix and all over the Internet. Can’t stand waiting another day — let alone a week — without your favorite characters? Us either. So, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to go marathon all 91 episodes…
