7-Year-Old Boy With Leukemia Gets His Wish To Spend The Day As A Super Hero (VIDEO)

The Make-A-Wish foundation has a wonderful reputation, and today’s story of what those at the organization did for a 7-year-old boy suffering from leukemia validates why this is so.

According to news station KTLA, the foundation teamed up with Anaheim Police Department in Orange County, CA, to make Alex Lelenoa’s dream of becoming a crime fighter come true. The young boy thought he was going to school but ended up at the police station, where he was suited up as Batman’s faithful sidekick, Robin.

Robin swooped in, of course, and the crime-fighting duo spent the day at places like Knott’s Berry Farm, battling pirates and villainous cowboys.

At the end of the the crime-fighting session, Alex was flown to Angel Stadium in a helicopter. He and Batman then rode the batmobile back to the police station, where he told KTLA it had been quite a day.

“I feel really thankful for the foundation,” Alex said. “I feel thankful for everything.”

As for Alex’s mother, Elizabeth Stoffer, she was overcome with joy.

“I’m beyond emotion, my heart’s going to pop out of my chest,” Stoffer said. “I’m so excited, so happy for him. I’m just glad that he’s having a wonderful time."
