9-Year-Old Boy with Down Syndrome Belting Out Whitney Houston Will Make Your Day
He's got the music in him.
A 9-year-old with Down syndrome was filmed by his family singing a stunning rendition of a Whitney Houston song.
He belted out her 1993 hit “I Have Nothing” and broke the internet with his passion.
Dane Miller, of Texas, has gone viral after singing his heart out.
The video has reached over 19 million viewers already.
“He is just very vibrant,” Dane’s aunt told ABC News.
“He’s very high-functioning so if he hears music, it’s just something that sticks with him. He’s very proud [of the video]. He just smiles and giggles.”
Dane’s mother says her son instantly fell for the song after watching a Whitney Houston documentary.
“When we had Dane, we didn’t know that he had Down syndrome, but it wouldn’t have mattered,” his mother told ABC News.
“He has been probably the biggest blessing of our lives. He is just so loving and joyful."
The family is so uplifted by the wonderful response the video has received.
"Just reading the comments, they're so sweet. I get emotional. Even some other families that have Down syndrome children have posted pictures of their kids," his mother said.
Not only is Dane a fan of the late R&B singer, but he is an all-around music fan in general.
According to his mother, he has a passion for Taylor Swift, Kidz Bop Kids and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Carol of the Bells."
His mother hopes to get Dane performing his talents regularly on his new YouTube channel, "Amazing Dane."
They will soon share another performance of one of his favorite songs, "Cray Button" by Family Force 5.
Whitney would be proud.
